Information for all Fuji Lens Operators using Jimmyjib Internal Focus Box
Information for all Fuji Lens Operators using Jimmyjib Internal Focus Box This is stated in the manuals. On the detachable servo drive unit itself— like on the Fujinon Cabrio or similar broadcast/cine zooms. Your understanding matches what I see in the manuals and calibration videos for these lenses. The servo motor for focus is intentionally limited — it won't drive the lens all the way to the mechanical infinity stop. That's by design so it doesn't overshoot or stress the mechanism. To hit true infinity, you switch to manual mode (there's usually a servo/manual switch on the drive unit or grip), then physically turn the focus ring by hand to the infinity end. Same goes for recalibration — the procedure always has you set the lens to manual, move focus to infinity by hand, then re-engage the servo. It's the opposite of consumer autofocus lenses, where the motor handles everything. These pro servo lenses treat the motor as a helper for smooth on-air moves, not the full-range driver
